September and Mommy Things

I was thinking today how Utah needs more 75 degree days, like this one. And would you believe it, BYU's first football game of the season is THIS Saturday? That means we get to hang out with Ruby while Andrew, Jenny, and Jacob go to the game. AND, in six days Mark will be seven months old. Where has the time gone?

This morning I dropped Mark off at my Aunt Julia's house for the day -- she has been watching him for me this week while my mom is off in London with Sarah. I knew he would have a lovely time there. Her kids are only a few years older than he, and they adore him. But for half a second, in between arriving and remembering he was there to play with his buddies Nathan, Andrew, and Sam, he gave me a sweet little look as I was walking out the door and I was heart broken that I had to leave him.

Picking him up after work has been my favorite part of the day ever since I went back in April. I love my days off, and I love the couple of hours I get to spend with him after work and before he goes to bed at night. Every single little thing he does is the greatest, coolest thing ever. One day I'm sure he'll be totally embarrassed by me, but for now, I think he thinks Danny and I are the two neatest people around. And I love it. Who knew mom-hood did these kinds of things to a girl?

Last night we bought a big (and I mean BIG) rug for our front room (looks cute -- I'll take a picture). We've been laying other rugs around the house (our place has mostly tile floors) so that Mark can have some ground to crawl on. He is moving that little bum around like I can't believe.

After work today Danny, Mark, Dad, Hannah, and I had dinner at Chili's and had a grand time. Mark sat in his high chair for a few minutes, then wanted out so he could grab at everything on the table -- our drinks, our plates, the chips, the French fries, the packets of Splenda, the Ketchup bottle. He is so very entertaining.

We were finally home for the night around nine. I went to get Mark out of the car, and he was completely and totally conked out.

... Until we got inside and he decided he wanted to try crawling around on our new soft green rug. He loved it.

We had a few more goofy moments.

See what I mean? Goofy.

And then he went to bed.

On a completely different note, who wants to see what I look like with red hair?

I know, it's crazy.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I am off to place an order for a couple things on Amazon and head to bed. Gotta get up early for day 4 of work tomorrow.

xoxo
